Radio host Dineo Ranaka has been suspended from her show The Bridge, which airs between 09:00 to 12:00 midday on weekdays on Metro FM. This came after she took part in the viral #UmlandoChallange trend started by Amapiano stars Mdoovar, Toss, and 9umber.
The suspension came from her dancing on the office furniture at her workplace. Ranaka filmed herself shaking her hips, dancing all over the SABC radio studio in Auckland Park, Johannesburg. She posted the video on social media then later deleted it. However, screen recordings had already made the rounds on Twitter.

SABC’s group executive for corporate Affairs and Marketing Gugu Ntuli confirmed the news to City Press that Ranaka was not scheduled on Metro FM.
“As a matter of principle, the corporation does not discuss matters relating to its independent contractors in public,” said Ntuli
Podcast and Radio presenter Marian Nyako-Lartey has filled in for Ranaka on The Bridge.
Twitter users had mixed reactions to the suspension as others applauded Metro FM for “installing dignity at the workplace” whilst others tweeted, “Imagine being suspended for such nonsense.”
