On Friday, 17 April 2026, something extraordinary unfolded at Bhai’s Lounge Banqueting Hall — not just a record attempt, but a moment that brought together passion, culture, and community in a way few experiences ever do, a real Bhai’s (brothers) way.

Fire Water Earth Productions, with Bhai’s Lounge masterly crafted and proudly undertook the monumental challenge of crafting the World’s Longest Bunny Chow — a bold vision brought to life through teamwork, belief, and relentless dedication.

A representative from Guinness World Records, Mbali Nkosi, was present to witness and oversee this official attempt, ensuring every step met the highest global standards.

What followed was nothing short of remarkable.

A custom-built 17-metre oven, conceptualised by FWE Chairman Kishore Ramharakh and brought to life with the support of Chris Brits, was used to bake a single, continuous loaf of bread stretching an incredible length. Under the careful supervision of an independent chef and baker, every detail — from preparation to execution was scrutinised and validated.

The final creation:
was a 15.98 metres of continuous bread filled with 40kg of rich lamb curry
complemented by 10kg of sugar bean curry, finished with traditional carrot and onion salad.

The result was more than food — it was a symbol of South African flavour, unity, and innovation.

The lamb was proudly sponsored by Ajmer Butchery in Pretoria, with spices provided by NSP Industries — a reminder that great achievements are never built alone.

Strict health and safety protocols were followed throughout, with officials from the Tshwane Municipality present to oversee compliance. A qualified engineer independently measured and verified the final dimensions to ensure they met Guinness World Records requirements.

And then came the moment –
15.98 metres. Official. The longest bunny chow in the world.

But beyond the numbers, what truly defined the day was the energy in the room — almost 100 family members, friends, and supporters gathered not just to witness history, but to be part of it.

In a beautiful twist of fate, even a previous unofficial record holder from Salt Rock, KZN, arrived after hearing about the attempt on Jacaranda FM — a powerful reminder that moments like these unite rather than compete.

This achievement places South Africa firmly on the global stage once again — not just for breaking records, but for celebrating culture, resilience, and creativity.

A MESSAGE FROM FIRE WATER EARTH PRODUCTIONS

From Chairman Kishore Ramharakh and his executive team — Aradhana Authar, Kubashni Govender, Vernon Naidoo, Eugene Govender, and Vusi Leeuw:

“This didn’t start as a record…
it started as a belief.”

A belief that something from our culture, our hands, our vision…
could stand on the world stage.

It was built by a team that refused to stop.
Strengthened by our children, who stood with us through every step.

And witnessed by our families and friends —
not as builders of the moment, but as the heartbeat behind it.

Because when it finally stood before us…
15.98 metres of more than just food…

We realised —
this was never just a bunny chow.

This was unity.
This was sacrifice.
This was South Africa.

And this… is what history feels like.”
