Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has announced the return of #OperationRestore, following the reinstatement of PA Deputy President Kenny Kunene as the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Transport.
In a statement, the agency said the operation would resume with tocused service delivery in Ward 29, Region D, over the next two weeks.
“#OperationRestore is a multi-disciplinary transport infrastructure recovery initiative aimed at restoring and maintainingroad safety, cleanliness, and accessibility across the City of Johannesburg.”
Planned works in Ward 29 include:
Pothole repairs and road surface improvements; reinstatement of damaged road infrastructure; fresh road markings to enhance traffic safety and visibility;
cleaning of kerb inlets (KIs) to prevent stormwater blockages; installation and repair of guardrails to ensure pedestrian and vehicular safety and installing speed calming measures.
Speaking at the launch of the operation in Region D, Kunene, said: “#OperationRestore is more than just fixing roads — it’s about restoring dignity and safety to our communities. Most importantly it is to boost services delivery in all areas. We are hitting the ground running in Ward 29, Region D, to ensure that our residents see and feel real, tangible improvements in their daily lives.”
Kunene added: “The work we’re doing over the next two weeks is just the beginning of our broader commitment to better roads, safer streets, and a more connected
Johannesburg.”
