BREAKING NEWS: PA wants answers after farmer allegedly hacks child to pieces over mangoes

By: Staff Reporter

The Patriotic Alliance, led by president Gayton McKenzie, on Saturday descended on the town of Klawer in the Western Cape demanding answers about the brutal murder of a 13-year-old boy by a local man, Danie Smit.

The farmer has been accused of hacking the child, Jerobeam van Wyk, to pieces after allegedly catching him stealing mangoes on his property and then chasing and knocking him down in his vehicle.

McKenzie joined the PA’s councillors from Matzikama to offer his support to the child’s mother, Triesa, and commit himself and the party to ensuring justice is done.

He accompanied the family to the local police station where one of the primary investigators, a captain dispatched from Paarl, agreed to a meeting and explained that the case was being given high priority.

He thanked the PA for their interest in the matter and reassured them that the authorities would be opposing bail for the accused when he appears in court on Monday.

The investigator confirmed that human remains had been found in a drain, but only portions of the body were discovered so far. The farmer allegedly tried to stop investigators from opening up the manhole where the remains were found.

The investigator added that the police had not ruled out the possibility that they may be investigating a serial killer or even an occult killer linked to satanism, in which case the specialised occult unit will be called in.

The police are investigating allegations of possible human trafficking, including that involving Chinese people, at the property.

McKenzie said: “The Patriotic Alliance will make sure that the fact this family is experiencing poverty will not prevent them from getting justice. We will put the best lawyers on watching briefs until this killer farmer is brought to book and goes to jail.”

The grief-stricken family said they couldn’t believe that the same McKenzie they’d seen on TV so many times had come to see them.

This happened in the town of Klawer. The alleged murderer is NOT a farmer! He worked at Transnet and after that he was a trucker. Still did not happen on a farm, nor was he a farmer.
