Al Jama-Ah is taking on the Democratic Alliance’s mayor of Johannesburg, Dr Mpho Phalatse, on her pro-Israel stance and has also accused the party of only serving white supremacists.
The party said it had taken a position to declare the city an Apartheid Free Zone. This comes after the party put up a statue of Yasser Arafat in front of the council offices.
The party’s Thapelo Amad said the act is a reminder to the nation of the recent history of extreme brutality, mass murders, mass incarceration and racial sabjuducation of native South Africans.
“The Democratic Alliance in the City of Johannesburg has indeed demonstrated the true nature and purpose for which the party exists. This nature is recognised from our deeply rooted understanding, which is clear and evident in their proximity with the apartheid state of Israel, which is further portrayed in the conduct of the Speaker of Council and the Militarisation of the Precinct as a form of intimidation towards our elected councillors for exercising their rights,” Amad said.
Phalatse is a known pro-Isreal supporter and has even been reprimanded in the past for her stance. In 2018 she was forced to issue an apology following pro-Israel comments during a speech at the 2018 Friends of Israel conference.
She commented while she was a member of the mayoral committee for health and social development at the City of Johannesburg under Herman Mashaba.
She said: “If we profess to follow Christianity which was founded by a certain Jewish man, Jesus Christ, then we should not hate the State of Israel. As a Christian that I am, I would like to publicly declare that I am a friend of Israel and that the City of Johannesburg is also a friend of Israel,” said Phalatse at the time.
She was subsequently suspended after that but was later reinstated.
Amad added that the plight of the Palestinians was evidence of modern-day Apartheid and was symbolic of the country’s current trajectory.
“South Africans paid dearly for their freedom to allow such a camouflaged atrocity to occur right under our noses through experimental black professional pawns. The status quo in the City of Johannesburg is a classic case of tyranny where councillors are expected to be mute and subservient whilst agreeing to dictated terms and agendas on which the business of council is to be conducted,” he said.
Amad called on other parties to resist the advances of the DA and fight for a government that will serve all residents and not only the white supremacists.

It’s easy to judge a person not knowing their stance. The standard that was set here was in the name of religious belief and not on the stance of the apathy of Apartheid. The Dr Mpho has erred by not articulating her presence in favor of the zionists however she refers to a sect named Jews which are found on the African continent. Migrants who meandered and roamed the platos of earth because there were no borders. This matter should not be construed as being a state of colonialism as Israel became a s Stat in the late 1940s.
