Tourism is one sector that was the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, and it continues to suffer from travel restrictions in various countries. Despite the challenges, the Department of Tourism believes the industry could trigger the economic recovery envisaged by the government.
On Monday, the department celebrated World Tourism Day in Clarens in the Free State, and locals showcased their products to those in attendance. Stalls that were there included arts and crafts, jewellery, and furniture making, to mention a few.
Attendees also got to be vaccinated on-site as the health department had set up a tent for that.
