The leadership of the Patriotic Alliance (PA) led by its deputy president Kenny Kunene today visited the Soweto home of slain Operation Dudula member Kgomotso Diale.

Diale was shot and killed in an attack in Soweto allegedly by illegal immigrants.

Police are investing a case of murder and several counts of attempted murder following an altercation between Operation Dudula members and residents of Chicken Farm in Soweto on Monday.

The PA and Operation Dudula are in agreement on working together to get illegal immigrants deported to their home countries.

Kunene said they visited Diale’s home to pay respect to “a patriot who died in the line of duty defending the country’s infrastructure against illegal immigrants”.

On Monday a group residents of Pimville accompanied by Operation Dudula members marched to Chicken Farm informal settlement in Kliptown.

According to reports, the community of Pimville had been without power for a number of days.

The residents were complaining about theft of electricity cables. It is alleged that there was an incident of a cable theft after it had been cut allegedly by some Sotho nationals.

It is further alleged that residents and Operation Dudula members went to find out about the cable theft, as they were talking, they were confronted by some Lesotho nationals who drew guns and shot indiscriminately.

The shooting claimed the life of Diale and left several community members and Operation Dudula members injured.

Diale will be buried on Saturday.
