With the ANC having performed dismally in this week’s local government elections, a performance that has seen the ruling party losing grip on many metros, Africa News Global understands that the party is in serious talks with the DA for possible coalition governments in the City of Joburg and Tshwane.
Africa News Global has been reliably informed that coalition talks between the two parties are led by ANC national chairperson Gwede Mantashe and DA Federal Council chairperson Helen Zille.
It is understood that if an agreement is clinched, the ANC will run the City of Joburg while the DA will be in charge of Tshwane.
