Former President Jacob Zuma’s appeal of the judgement by the High Court in Pretoria setting aside his parole will be heard on Tuesday.
The Jacob Zuma Foundation spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi on Saturday confirmed that Judge Elias Matojane has set the matter for Tuesday morning.
“Judge Matojane has indicated his intention to hear the leave to appeal on Tuesday, 21st December at 10 am,” Manyi said.
He added that there are challenges with regards to the availability of Zuma’s legal team on the day.

“In the interest of the country, all efforts have been made to honour the date proposed by the judge. His Excellency President Jacob Zuma looks forward to the hearing,” Manyi added.
The appeal follows Matojane’s ruling earlier in the week that found that Zuma’s release from prison on medical parole was unlawful and set aside.
Matojane found that Arthur Fraser’s decision to place Zuma on medical parole was not in line with the Correctional Services Act.
He ruled that Zuma should be returned to the custody of the Department of Correctional Services to serve out the remainder of his sentence of imprisonment.
